Amir is currently working on several projects in the areas of smart cities and sustainability in his capacity as Chief Marketing Officer at BCN Smart Technologies. A technology consultancy based in Kuala Lumpur, championing the use of technology in sustainability efforts.

He was previously the Head of Programs at the American Malaysian Chamber Of Commerce (AMCHAM Malaysia), curating content and projects for American MNCs based in Malaysia. Prior to that he was the Senior Program Officer at The Asia Foundation, involved in socio-economic development and capacity building in the areas of education, environment, community security in Malaysia as well as the South East Asian region.

He has a background in accounting and finance while working in Australia, a Masters in Globalisation and Multinational Corporations from SOAS University of London, and most recently in October this year completed a course on “Business and Climate Change: Towards Net Zero Emissions” by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL).
